Review: My Tribe

download My Tribe! From the setting, to the actual game, is hard not to think that My Tribe was enormously influenced by the game Virtual Villagers, reviewed some time ago.

Still, on casual games such clones are very common, so let’s see what has this game to offer despite his similarity with the LDW title.

First of all, you can build boats to explore surrounding islands, expanding the playable area. Another nice touch is that you’re rewarded if you explore the area because from time to time, a crate or barrel will appear in the ocean, or Stardust or Moondust will land on the island. Drop an islander onto these gifts to collect them.

There are more great touch like the Trophies (that are like Achievement of XboX), particular task that will be rewarded and vary from very simple thing like build a specific building, to keep an islander alive for 900+ years. The potion system is so complex and fun to play that you must try it for yourself playing the demo.

There are also some minor problems. Even My Tribe has the “persistent world” mechanic that made Virtual Villager famous. Even when you stop playing the game virtual world still run, and if you don’t check in often is easy to log into the game to find all the islanders dead :(

In definitive though is a very solid title, and while its main idea is the same of Virtual Villagers, it surpasses that title with some great innovations.

Review: Dangerous High School Girls In Trouble

download Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble!!This game is really weird. Weird an original. Together with Heileen, one of the most original games I’ve been playing recently. And it’s about “girl-power” too!

Your goal in the game is to find out what’s happening in your school (there have been some strange events recently) and to do this you play in a sort of turn-based game, very similar to a board game with a big scrollable map.

You’ll play with a gang of girls, each one with different skills/abilities, and an advancement system typical of RPGs games. You’ll be also able to recruit new members to your town.

Everytime you met an opponent “gang” of girls, you can challenge them in one of various puzzle/skill games, which require different skill, so is important to choose your team member with the highest required skill.

In definitive, a very original game that I recommend anyone trying, you could be surprised even if the theme doesn’t seem particularly attractive to you.
