Review: Azada Ancient Magic

Azada 2, called “Azada: Ancient Magic” is without doubt one of the best games of 2008. It received several awards, and has a really innovative mix between puzzle game and adventure game. The game is divided into “book”. Each book tells a story, some are very classical ones like Dracula, Robinson Crusoe, and more. Inside the book there are several pages, and each page has an enigma, or items to pick up and put in the inventory.

You can then reuse those objects to solve quests and puzzles in other pages, until you find a card that will let you close the book and mark it as solved! This innovative gameplay is really brilliant because takes away the tedious walking from one location to the other (typical of many adventures) and keeps the interest alive with literally thousands of different puzzles to solve, from logic to skill ones.

I warmly recommend anyone to try the game at least once, even if you aren’t a fan of those kind of games: you could fall in love with it!
