Review: Smashing Tennis
March 8th, 2009
Finally something a little bit different for your Mac! This time macgames.org brings you Smashing Tennis, a simple yet entertaining Tennis game for Mac. Behind simple graphics (that almost got me to not review this game), this tennis game is saved by an amazing game play. The physics used for the game engine will lead to realistic in-game behaviours, for example you’ll see the ball hitting the net then fly into the air, so you’ll have to run towards the net to catch the ball. The keyboard controls will allow you to lob, smash, or even do a drop ball to trick your opponent!
With a choice of 3 court surfaces ( clay, grass and synthetic ) that all have different characteristics, solid sound effects, customizable player skills, training, tournament, and 2 player mode, Smashing Tennis ends up being a very good little tennis game for the whole family, despite a steep learning curve and basic graphics, it remains a very good sport game for the affordable $9.95 price. It is definitely worth the small 6MB download if you’re looking for a challenging tennis game for mac.
